Eye of the Creator is a new monthly outreach event designed to raise awareness of indie games and content creators alike. Held on BlueSky and involving a different theme every month, developers and PRs pitch games to a monthly host in the hopes of bringing attention to games and content creators that deserve their moment in the spotlight. You can find out more information on Eye of the Creator on their website.
We will be bringing a monthly article to highlight some of the games that get pitched during these events, a handy round-up for you to browse once the events have wrapped up.
January 2026’s event was themed around survival, simulation, and base- and city-builder-themed games and hosted by Twitch streamer Rual Storge. The first Eye of the Creator had a slow start, but it soon picked up, and some fun and interesting games came to light, so with all that said, let’s head into our favourites from this month’s event with comments by host, Rual Storge.
Abracademia
The popularity of idle desktop games has increased dramatically over the last year or so, and Abracademia is promising to bring a taste of the magic world to your desktop by letting you pick covens, manage a daily routine, pass exams on your way to graduation and much more.
It starts out similar to Harry Potter, whereby you receive an invitation to attend Abracademia school. The game takes place over five in-game years, leading up to graduation. Take classes and join in the activities, all while making new friends and enrolling in fun adventures.

Abracademia promises a strong range of customisation of your character and over 300 spells to learn; this should prepare you for any magical world takeover bids in the future!
Rual Storge says:
I am loving the art style of this, and I would absolutely gossip with Annabeth; I’m sure she’s got all the coven tea to spill. I’d love to see more as the game comes along because what I am seeing looks good! Looks like there is a decent amount going on here with schedules, stats, etc.
Space Vampires
Space Vampires brings such a unique spin on a vampire story that I’m truly invested to see how this game develops.
Set on a space station, the last remaining vampires are in hiding; humanity believes they are extinct, but this blood-sucking community is using its time wisely by regrouping, getting stronger, reclaiming their power and planning an apocalypse like no other.
Your part in this incremental roguelike is plentiful. Help lure unsuspecting humans to the station using traps and use them for the usual vampire shenanigans. Use resources to expand your station; medical bays, graveyards and even a theme park are all possible.

There is promise to make each run unique too by options to ally with humans or stick with your race; whichever you choose, the game promises branching pathways and playstyles.
Rual Storge says:
I’ve never seen a space vampire-themed game before.
It seems like there is a balance here between amassing power and getting too high profile, which kind of makes me think of idle games with the unlocked stuff, but with more strategy involved. I’d absolutely love to see more as it progresses.

Pebble Knights
In Pebble Knights, the kingdom is being attacked nightly by the Evil Hell Fungus Army, and it’s your role to help the inhabitants of Pebble Kingdom to defend it.
Using the day wisely, you’ll collect resources by digging up ore, farming better gear, mastering new skills and upgrading your kingdom in preparation for the battle ahead.

Featuring a fun mechanic that lets you use anything you can pick up as a weapon and dealing with unpredictable events like tornadoes, which is all wrapped up in gorgeous cartoony visuals, this PvE, team-based roguelike has much potential for hours of fun.
Rual Storge says:
This absolutely seems like a solid game to play with friends for maximum chaos. I really like the animations with stuff like the power-ups. The bosses also look interesting and well designed. I’ll for sure check out the demo!

Terranlands
In this survival adventure game, you take the role of Daniello, a mushroom boy on an expedition to find ancient places that hold stories of the past. Use these stories to help the people of the Fungmo Kingdom learn the past of the Terran reigns.
Involving a huge map, the developers promise a vast land to explore, with an emphasis on cave exploration specifically. They promise over ten types of caves will be available to plunder, all procedurally generated, with over 1,000 items to find and many enemies to defeat.

While you’re not out exploring, you’ll be able to decorate Daniello’s bedroom while admiring the game’s gorgeous pixel graphics.
Rual Storge says:
The trailer looks really good! I do enjoy some solid pixel art and a good boss fight in my platformers. It’s certainly a game for me to keep an eye on.
The game gives me quite a bit of nostalgia for all the platformers I played in the past. Consider it wishlisted for when it drops.
Don’t Wake the Beast
In this roguelite stealth game, play as a treasure hunter armed with a grappling hook who sneaks around randomly generated dungeons with the aim to steal precious treasures from under the noses of the powerful beasts that guard them.
With dungeons promising three levels each, full to the brim of enemies, traps and environmental puzzles and many treasures to find, there’s much to keep you busy here. But be wary of how much treasure you pick up, as the more you carry, the slower you’ll become, and you’ll risk generating more noise too.

There’s also an element of Pizza Tower, as grabbing the main treasure of the dungeon activates an intense escape back through the path you’ve just taken, but filled with new challenges and traps to overcome while also being chased by the dungeon’s creature.
There’s much promise here, and as long as the challenges are implemented fairly, this is shaping up to be a really intriguing title, and we can’t wait to see how it progresses through its development.
Rual Storge says:
This looks excellent to me. Solid art style, a nice twist on the genre to be something new and original.
I look forward to checking this out!
